We are a family-run business that happened not by accident, but more by realisation. It was a realisation that our mother and son partnership was a coming together of minds that have the same passion for words. Together, we have an extensive pool of experience covering communications, teaching, marketing, content writing, editing and so much more.
With lived experiences spanning South East Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, we are sensitive to the challenges people face when writing in English as a second language. We don't want to simply improve the quality of your work, we want to support you becoming a better writer.
Our team has expanded to cover a range of translation services, broadening the ways in which we can support your writing journey. This includes more than academic and creative writing. We also support legal and medical documents as well.

Andrea Woolhead,
Company Director & Chief Editor
Andrea shares a love and flair for the English language. For the majority of her career she has been an English second language teacher while, alongside, has written extensively for magazine publications and advertorials, designed curriculums and classroom materials, edited academic research, and, currently, writes a weekly blog to fulfil her creative edge.
Sam Woolhead,
Company Director & Editor
Enjoying the creative process of editing has been a more recent turn in Sam's career. Formerly he has worked at the University of St Andrews in community-level climate action with communications and marketing forming a lot of his role. Alongside this he began editing Masters dissertations and PhD applications finding a joy in supporting others to convey their message.
Nas Yousef,
Translator - Swedish & Arabic
Nas' passion is to help people overcome the major challenge of translating texts: losing meaning. Nas has had a long career as an international lawyer in Syria before moving to Sweden and learning Swedish and, additionally, holds two separate translation certifications in the UK. Nas is equipped in translating across three languages: English, Arabic, and Swedish.
Filipa André,
Translator - Portuguese
Filipa is fascinated by the playful aspects of communication and the nuances of translation. Alongside her work in cultural production, she has been editing and translating in Portuguese and English for almost 8 years. With a highly critical approach, she specialises in the arts, humanities and social sciences, supporting artists, curators and academics in their writing for publications across the cultural sector.
George Brocklehurst,
Editor and Translator - Italian
With years of experience in research, teaching, and publishing, George is committed to helping scholars at all stages of their academic journey make their work the best it can be. Holding a doctorate in classics, he specialises in supporting non-native English writers to develop a polished, error-free text in a way that retains their unique voice and message.
Mikhail Menshikov,
Translator - Russian
Mikhail is a copywriter and translator with more than seven years of relevant experience. Throughout his career he has worked in a variety of roles and industries, which has helped him to develop a multidimensional understanding of how language shapes culture and communication.
